Biography
In Nov 1812 James Plunkett senior deeded James Plunkett junior both of Barnwell Disctrict, SC received 677 acres in the district bordered by the land of Mary Johnson, Jumping Branch and Shaw's Creek Swamp, having originally been part of the 2,554 acre grant to Elias Leggett. Similarly he deeded from the same tract 524 acres to his son Charles also of the same district land bordered by the land of Mary Johnson, James Jackson, Henry Feazler, and Jumping Run. Next James senior deeded his son John 200 acres from a tract of 400 acres he received from John Deen on Shaw's Creek, Joices (?) Branch. These three deeds were witnessed by Lewis B. Jernigen and Peter Plunkett. James senior also deeded his daughter Elizabeth personal property followed by other deeds to his sons.
