19-yer-old Harry arrived in San Francisco in 1895. He married Annette Felicia Lawson in 1899. Their fist child, Marion L Plymire, died at 13 days in San Francisco in 1900.
Dr. Plymire graduated from medical school in 1900, class of '00, College of Physicians & Surgeons, San Francisco. [3]
In 1905, he and his brother, Bradley, set up shop in the Martin building at Grand and Linden avenues. Harry built a two-story home at Spruce and Grand avenues. His office was downstairs and the family lived upstairs. Colonia Revival style house Their son, Harry Lawson Plymire, was born in San Francisco in 1910.
Dr. Plymire was coroner and public administrator of San Mateo County for three terms.[4] He also served on South San rancisco Board of Health.
Harry collapsed at South San Francisco General Hospital, which he founded. [5] He died a day later of pneumonia.
The 1900 U.S. census lists Edwin R Lawson, 50, dealer in shoes; Elizabeth N Lawson, 43, New York; Jennie E Lawson, 20; and Annie T Plymire, 22, married 1 year; and Harry G Plymire, 23, son-in-law, student; living at 2416 Mission, San Francisco.
The 1910 U.S. census lists H G Plymire, 32, married 11 years, general practice physician; Annie F Plymire, 31, Illinois; Amelia King, 54, servant, Pennsylvania; Bert Duboise, 22, servant, California; Al Berg, 33, boarder, Minnesota; and Sam Berg, 24, boarder, Minnesota; and John May, 80, servant, stable hostler; living at 500 Grand Avenue, San Mateo, California.
