The family moved to Ohio very soon after it became a state. They settled on a homestead near Felicity OH. It was part of the Virginia Military District. This land was given to VA officers in the American Revolution as payment for their military service. Most never saw the land but sold it to agents who resold it in smaller parcels. John bought 100 Acres. By this time they had 10 children and 2 adopted children whose father had been killed by Indians. John died in 1816 and in later years the homestead was abandoned and was sold to pay back taxes. It was given by the new owner for use as a YMCA camp (circa 1990). John was one of the earliest settlers of Clermont Co. His occupation was house carpenter. It is believed that John and his wife, Abigail are buried in Mt. Moriah Cemetery about 1 1/2 mi from Feesburg, without a marker stone. Jesse and Joseph Day are also buried there. Poe-477 and Poe-2861 appear to represent the same person because: I had found the middle letter 'T' somewhere but it was not supported by evidence. I have changed it to match your 'C' initial. We need to merge the John Day profiles next. Thanks.

Poe-1998 and Poe-477 appear to represent the same person because: They are the same person. Shouldn't have been rejected. Relatives also need to be merged. Husbands family needs merging on relatives.
