Melvin was born on 16 March 1920 to Adeline J. (Sarnowski) and John Pohl, Sr.
POHL, Melvin A., Sr., age 90, of Auburn Hills, died December 3, 2010. An Army Air Corp. veteran of World War II, serving in Europe, and was a long time member of American Legion Post 143 – Auburn Hills. An electrician, he retired from GM Truck & Coach in 1979 after 32 years of service. He loved his family, gardening and anything electrical. Beloved husband of Mary Louise Pohl, his wife of 53 years, who preceded him in death in 1999. Dear father of Brenda (Frank) Skosich of Auburn Hills, Melvin (Mary Celmer) Pohl, Jr. of Auburn Hills, the late Robert (Evelyn) Hudson and the late Judith Rocheleau. Also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and six great, great-grandchildren. Brother of Jackie (Jack) Edwards of Clarkston and the late Delores, Howard, Russell, John and Ralph. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church, 1011 W. University Drive in Rochester. Visitation Monday 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. at PIXLEY FUNERAL HOME, 322 W. University Drive in Rochester 48307. Memorial contributions in Melvin's name may be directed to Hartland Hospice, and envelopes will be available at the funeral home. [1]
