Sara was born in Caraquet, NB, on May 8, 1849, to Jean-Louis Poirier and Marie Cormier. She was baptised on May 9, 1849. Her godfather was Juste Haché, and her godmother was Appolline Poirier [1]

On November 20, 1882, widowed, Sara married widower Sylvain Boudreau (his first wife was Rufine Chiasson) in Caraquet.[3][4]
Sara died on July 29,1933, in Caraquet, New Brunswick, likely of old age (she was 89 years and 8 months old). She was buried on July 31, 1933, in Caraquet. Her death was reported by her brother Théotime Poirier of Pointe Rocheuse, NB, and the death certificate lists her name as "Sara Boudreau".[5]
