Descendant of First Nations Christine Aubois.
According to genealogist Placide Gaudet[1]Marguerite Poirier born in about 1764 was the daughter of Joseph Poirier, "maitre cannonier a bord d'un corsaire français" who died in Tintamarre about 1779. Her mother was Marguerite Lavigne. She married Firmin Martin about 1784 in Rustico.
Marguerite Poirier married Firmin Martin as documented by the marriages of their children.

Before 15 July 1815 both Firmin Martin and his wife Marguerite Poirier are deceased. They are listed as deceased at the time of their daughter Marie's marriage to Amant Gallant on the marriage register document. (see marg reg. ref. of daughter Marie Martin) Marie Martin married Amant Gallant , 15 July 1815[2]

On January 9th 1816, in Rustico, Abraham Pineau (probably Abraham Pineau) adult son of Joseph Pineau and deceased Charlotte Doucet married Adélaïde Martin minor daughter of deceased Firmain Martin and deceased Marguerite Poirier of Rustico Witnesses Jean Pineau, Amant Galant, Jacques Pitre and many others. None could sign.[3]
