Jean-Chrysostôme was born about 1786. Stephen White does not give a location for his birth.[1] He was the son of Joseph Poirier and Marguerite Arsenault.
He married Gertrude Boudreau, daughter of Jean Boudreau and Judith Gaudet, in Grande-Digue on 20 July 1807. [2] The witnesses at the wedding were: for the spouse Joseph Poirier his father, Paschal, Raphael and Pierre his brothers, and for the spouse Jean Boudreau her father,
Laurent and Gabriel Boudreau her cousins.
He passed away in Grande-Digue on 5 Oct 1822 at about 36 years of age and was buried 2 days later.[3]
