Helen Elisabeth "Nellie" Poirier was born on 10 Jun 1890 to Joseph Lucien Poirrier and Mary Virginia Murray in Missouri, United States of America.[1] She was baptized on 10 Aug 1890 in Florissant, St Louis County, Missouri.[1]
Nellie married James Raymond about 22 Apr 1907 in Bonne Terre, St Francois County, Missouri.[2][3] It appears that James left her toward the end of 1907.[4]
On 4 May 1910, Hellen [sic] E Raymond, a house girl/cook, was living in the household of James A Davis, a widower with 4 young children, in St Francois County.[5] It's unknown when Nellie left that household, but on 26 Nov 1910, she was not living there when she gave birth to Alice Alberta Raymond in St Francois County. When Nellie surrendered Alice to the Children's Home Society of Missouri in St Louis on 16 Dec 1910, she named James Albert Davies [sic] as Alice's father.[4]
She married Paul Newman some time before her deceased father's 10 Nov 1913 probate record, when she was identified as Helen E Newman in the list of heirs.[6]
Nellie died at her home in the city of St Louis, Missouri on 29 Oct 1930.[7] She was buried on 1 Nov 1930 at Calvary Cemetery in the city of St Louis.[8][7]
