Jean-Louis Poirier was born on September 16, 1793 in Carleton , Bonaventure County, Bas-Canada, son of Jean-Baptiste Poirier and Marie Arsenault. [1] He was baptized at birth by Louis Arseneau, and later baptized with full ceremony, possibly on 10 November 1793. His godparents were Louis Arseneau and Euphrosine Landry.
Jean-Louis (22) married Marie Josephe Bujold (21) (born in Bonaventure Quebec Canada; daughter of Louis Bujold and Modeste (Arsenault) Savoie) on September 16, 1815 in Bonaventure, Quebec, Canada. Their son was Joseph Poirier (1819– ). Louis, child of Jean Poirier and Marie Arcenaud, married Marie Borger on 27 November 1814 in Carleton (Carleton Centre), Québec (Quebec), Canada.[2] The witnesses were Fleurant Arsenaud and Alexis Painchaud.
Jean-Louis died on April 23, 1871 in Charlo, Restigouche County, NB Canada, aged 77.
