Biography

Marie Poirier, daughter of Michel Poirier & Madeleine Bourgeois, was born in Beaubassin about 1704. [1]She died after the LaRoque Census of Isle St. Jean in 1752. [2]
On February 6, 1721, Marie Poirier and Jacques Arseneau were married in Beaubassin.[3][4]

Marie Poirier, widow of Jacques Arcenaud, native of l'Acadie, aged 50 years.

She has two sons:-

Alexander, aged 20 years. Paul, aged 15 years.

In live stock, they have four oxen, three cows, one heifer, one calf, three wethers, three pigs, and three hens.

The land on which they are settled is situated up the Rivière du Ouest, and had been granted to the late Jacques Arcenaud by Messieurs Duchambon and Dubuisson. They have made a clearing on it where they have sown ten bushels of wheat, two bushels of peas, and one bushel of barley, and they have fallow land for the sowing of twenty bushels.[6]
