A lawyer, civil servant, writer and senator, Pascal Poirier was born on February 15, 1852 in Shediac, New Brunswick. He is the twelfth and last child of Simon Poirier, a farmer, and his wife Ozithe. In 1879, Pascal married Anna Lusignan, who died in 1913. In 1915, he married in second marriage to Mathilde Casgrain. Pascal Poirier died on September 25, 1933.
