Charles Polak, son of Rose and Albert Polak was born at Barnston, Neb., September 21, 1887 and died at the Belle-View Manor in Belleville June 27 at the age of 83 years, 9 months and 6 days.

He grew up in the Odell, Neb., community. October 16, 1916 he was united in marriage to Blanche Filipi and they were the parents if four children. They lived in Republic County most of their life moving to Belleville in 1956. He was a member of the United Presbyterian church.

Preceding him in death were his wife in June, 1967; two sons, Charles jr., and an infant son; his parents; three brothers, Frank, Albert and Fred.

Survivors are: his son, Leonard and wife Evelyn of Belleville; his daughter, Betty and husband, Mrs. Eugene Wiche of Narka; four grandchildren, Loren, Kenneth and Janet Polak; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Weiner of Wymore, Neb., Mrs. Charles Brabec of Washington.
