Matilda's birth date is uncertain. From the records found, it ranges from 1805 to 1811. Also, she is singled out in William's will and not listed with his other "lawful heirs". Given that William and Mary married in 1810, it's possible that Matilda is not William's child. [1]
Matilda married Job Troth on 13 Sep 1827 in Highland County, Ohio. [2] In 1830, Job and Matilda have 1 son under 5 and the family was still in Highland County, Ohio. [3] In 1840 the family consisted of Job, Matilda, 2 males under 5 and 2 females under 5. [4]
By 1850, the family has moved to Marion County, Indiana where Matilda's parents and siblings moved in 1828. [5]
The children of Job and Matilda (Poland) Troth are thought to be:
Male born between 1828-1830 no further information
We find Job and Matilda on the 1860 census with their youngest child Martha in Hendricks County, Indiana, but no further records have been found for Job or Matilda. [6]
