Biography

James was born in 1861. He is the son of Jonas Poling and Susan Barns.

Although Find-a-Grave has him linked to Clara Alice CROOK, I could not find a matching marriage record. This FamilySearch entry: "Ohio Marriages, 1800-1958," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XDD4-622 : 10 February 2018), James M. Poling and Clara A. Crook, 03 Jan 1884; citing Perry County, Ohio, reference 2:3JQLD52; FHL microfilm 910,671. says it has a license for them in 1885, however I scanned the last approximately 20 images and there is no license. The last 20 images are the ones for 1885.
