Jessie Poll, daughter of Jan Harm Pol and Henrietta Aalderink, was born on 11 April 1922 at Hamilton, Allegan County, Michigan.

Jessie was baptised on 13 May 1922 in the Dutch Reformed Church. ^[1]

In 1930 Jesse Poll is recorded being seven years of age and living in the Household of her stepfather Harm Kuite in Olive, Ottawa County, Michigan. ^[2]

Jessie Poll was wed to Milton Willis Barkel on 5 October 1940 at Olive Center, Ottawa County, Michigan. ^[3] They had the following children:
