Note on her Name / Nota betreffend haar naam

Her baptismal name was Fennegien. Her nickname in Dutch was Fenna, in English Fannie, Fanny. Her maiden surname was Pol in Dutch, spelt Poll in German. The Pol Family came from Graafschap (County) Bentheim, long an independent County within the Holy Roman Empire (i.e., until 1806 when the HRE was dissolved). In 1815 Bentheim became part of the new Kingdom of Hannover; later in the century, Hannover - together with Bentheim - were taken over by the Kingdom of Prussia, and in 1871 Prussia became the leading State within the new German Empire. Today Bad Bentheim, as it is now known, belongs to the State of Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony), Federal Republic of Germany. The people of Bentheim speak a Low-German dialect similar to Dutch. Until the late nineteenth century, local schooling was in Dutch, and until the nazi era, Church services were still held in Dutch. The Pol family were ethnically Dutch: hence the correct spelling of their surname is Pol, which they themselves, and the Dutch Church in Michigan, most often used.

Pol-120 and Poll-60 appear to represent the same person because: 60 has no sources, but names parents are identical. Should be merged into 60 after a check for the correct spelling of the last name of course.

Hello, what is the source for birth date of 30 Dec 1866?

The other profile for her (to be merged) has birth date calculated from death date and age listed in Michigan death record.

I have now changed the birthdate that i had, which i had gotten from a Tree, which might have been taken from the Original German birth record (but i donot know that, as i have no access to the German records at Ancestry) to the date of birth shown on her Burial Record at Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo. Reckoning a birth date from a death date can be tricky, and should only be done if there is no concrete birth date shown in a public record. Perhaps you could look at Family Search for a free German birth record for her? That would be ideal: but in the meantime, the birth date given by her Burial Record will have to do.
1 JAN 1868 is the birthdate shown by her Burial Record, Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo Michigan. The original German Birth Record would be the most authoritative record, of course. Perhaps we can locate it at FamilySearch, as the one at Ancestry can be accessed only with a paid World Membership.
Poll-79 and Pol-120 appear to represent the same person because: Both names used.... same find a grave and info on both profiles
