Biography

Edward Pollard was born in Appalachia, in Tennessee.

Edward Varner Pollard was born on 18 Feb 1836 in White, Tennessee, United States, son of Edward Varner Pollard Sr (1799 - 1878) and Thairsa Jane (Pettis) Pettus (1802 - 1866).

Edward married Nancy Moore (~1838 - ).[1]

Their children were:

  2. Mary Ann (Pollard) Bowdoin (1868 - 1930)
  3. James Patrick Pollard (1870 - 1901)
  4. Rebecca Jane Pollard (1872 - 1934)

  6. Susan Emily (Pollard) Earles (1880 - 1920).
  7. William Isaac Pollard (1874 - 1947).

In the 1860 census Edward (age 22) was at 5th District, White, Tennessee, United States.[3] Edwerd V Pollerd 59, Thursey Pollerd 58, Edward Pollerd 22, Thomas Pollerd 21, Benjamin Pollerd 19, Lucey Clairbon 31.

In the 1870 census Edward (age 33) was the head of household in White, Tennessee, United States.[4] Edward B Pollard 33, Nancy Pollard 31, Zacariah Pollard 3, Mary A Pollard 2, Edward Pollard 13.

In the 1880 census E (age 44), Farmer, was the married head of household in District 5, Grainger, Tennessee, United States.[5] E. V. Pollard 44, wife Nancy Pollard 42, son Z. T. Pollard 15, daughter Mary Ann Pollard 12, son James P. Pollard 9, daughter Becca J. Pollard 7, son William I. Pollard 6, son Asberry T. Pollard 3, daughter Susan E. Pollard 0.

Edward died on 2 Feb 1893 in White aged 56. He is buried in Pollard - Norris Cemetery, White County, Tennessee.[6]
