John Pollard was born in 1801 in Madron Cornwall to Christopher and Susanna Roberts.
In 1826 he married Esther Eddy in St Just in Penwith when he was 23 years old.John Bennetts and John Tregear were witnesses
He died suddenly of heart disease in the Wesleyan Chapel in Creswick Victoria in 1874. An inquest was held into his death.  His daughter Mary Young said that she was keeping house for him and he was well and in good spirits before he died. She said that John Pollard was 73, he had been living in Victoria for 21years. (It may be 20 years as difficult to read). His children were listed John 46, Esther 44, William 42, Thomas dec, Thomas Eddy 39, Emily 37, Marie Jane 35, Mary Eddy 32, Joseph James 32, and Richard dec. His wife Esther is not mentioned as still living but she is mentioned in his will.
In his will he is described as “Gardener” of Melbourne Road Creswick
