Note: John Edward Pollard (1815 X 1865) was born in Herefordshire, England. Pollard emigrated to South Australia as a labourer in 1836, with his wife, aboard the Africaine. According to Robert Gouger, during the voyage Pollard cared for the livestock and Gouger's goats, performing the "offices of the butcher" when required.
