Biography
Martha Mariah Pollard was born January 4, 1799, in Groveton, Columbia county, Georgia, a daughter of Robert Pollard and Martha (Marshall) Pollard. Martha Mariah is the twin sister of Mary F. Pollard, who married James Hammack on August 2, 1827, in Bibb county, Georgia. [1]
On December 16, 1818, in Columbia county, Georgia, Martha married Isaac Lucas, a son of John Lucas and Elizabeth (Doby) Lucas. [2] Children of Martha Mariah and Isaac Lucas are:
- John Lucas, born 1821, in Columbia county, Georgia
- Sarah E. Lucas, born 1825, in Columbia county, Georgia, married the Reverend James D. Wilson, on December 18, 1872, in Talbot county, Georgia
- Marshall Lucas, born August 13, 1829, in Columbia county, Georgia
- Joseph Isaac Lucas, born 1831, in Columbia county, Georgia, died February 20, 1918, in Talbot county, Georgia, married Marietta Hogg, a daughter of George Euclidus Hogg and Elizabeth (Willis) Hoggon September 9, 1854, in Talbot county, Georgia
