Biography

Mary was born on 13 December 1848 at North Dandalup, Western Australia.[1][2]

It appears she never married.

She died age 80 and is buried in St John's Cemetery Pinjarra with her parents.

South Western Advertiser (Perth, WA : 1910 - 1954), Friday 25 January 1929, page 5
Another very old resident of the district -in the person of Miss Mary Ann Pollard, of "Mundup," North Dandalup, passed away at her resi dence on Tuesday last. The deceased lady, who had reached the advanced age of 80 years, had been ailing for some time, and the end came on Thursday, just about the time that the obsequies of another old colonist—her uncle—were being conducted at Pinjarra, Miss Pollard was a native of the State, having been born at the South Dandalup where she had lived ever since. The deceased lady was of a very amiable disposition, and her kindly and lovable nature had endeared her to all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance, and she will be greatly greatly missed by a large circle of friends. To her relatives the deepest sympathy ie extended in the sad bereavement they have sustained.

The funeral, which took place on Thursday afternoon, was very largely attended. The cortege left her late residence, North Dandalup, and proceeded thence to St, John's Anglican Church, Pinjarra, where an impressive service was conducted by the Rev. Grnon Burns, who also conducted the last rites at the graveside. "Rock of Ages" and other hymns were sung by the choir in the church. The chief mourners were: William Henry and George Pollard (brothers), Mrs R Herron (sister) Mr R. Herron (brother-in law), Mesdames John and Geo Pollard (sisters-in-law), Messrs Arthur and G. Batt, and William Pollard (nephews), Mesdames Ross McLarty, R. Trickelt, A.. Mead, W.Farmer, George Mead, Misses Myrtle Herron, Thelma and Olive Pollard (nieces).[3]
