Biography

son of Francis Pollard and Betty Phelps

His marriage is listed in Bedford Co. marriage records 1755-1800 as Jan. 6, 1787, Thomas Pollard, surety, consent of John Nichols. This is presumably the marriage bond date rather than the wedding itself. Bedford Co. Processioners Book, and Marriage Returns, gives 9 Jan. as the actual marriage date.[1]

He was under age at the time of his father's death, since in the settlement of his father's estate in 1780 (see Francis' file), Thomas Pollard is to pay John Phelps Guardian to John Pollard.

Pollard-3802 and Pollard-758 do not represent the same person because: based on comments that are on the family of John Pollard (abt.1760-abt.1848) and Catherine (Nichols) Pollard (abt.1770-abt.1834). I do not think that John Pollard (abt.1760-abt.1848) is the same person as John Pollard (abt.1760-1821).

Pollard-1809 and Pollard-758 appear to represent the same person because: Same wife, same parents named in notes on Pollard-1809; birthdate of 1787 is incorrect on Pollard-1809
