Biography

Minnie Belle Polley was born in Iowa on 10 August 1892, the daughter of Charles Polley and Sarah Elizabeth Noyer

Minnie was living with her parents Charles and Lizzie in Clay Township Steamboat Rock town, Hardin, Iowa, United States when the 1900 census was taken. They had children Annie, Minnie, Henry, Charles and John, also in the household was Charles' mother, Henrietta Polley, a 71 year old widow. ^[1]

By 1910, Minnie's mother had died and the family were living in Clay township, and comprised of father Charles, with children Annie, Minnie, Harry, Charles and John ^[2]

She married Edward Luiken on 4 February 1914 in Hardin, Iowa, United States. Edward was age 25 and gave his parents names as Anton Luiken and Anna Swears. Minnie was age 21, and was the daughter of Charles Polley and Elizabeth Noyer ^[3]

When the 1920 census was taken Edward and Minnie were living in Eldora, Hardin, Iowa, United States, with their children Lyle, Edna and Charles A ^[4]

Minnie was living in Clay township in 1930, with her husband and children, her father Charles and her brother John. ^[5]

Minnie and Edward were still resident in Eldora when the 1940 census was taken, and they had children Charles and Anna living at home with them ^[6]

Minnie died on 25 Oct 1980, age 88, and was buried in Steamboat Rock, Hardin, Iowa, USA. Her date of birth was given as 10 August 1892. ^[7]
