Marriage Joseph POLDEN and Eliza POLLEY were married on 15 June 1828 in St. Dunstan-in-the-West, London. They both signed the register.[2]
They had two children baptised in 1832. By 1834 they were living at 2 Duke Street, Blackfriars.
Her husband Joseph was convicted for receiving stolen money in 1834 and was transported to Sydney New South Wales on the "Bengal Merchant" in 1835.
Eliza and her two children joined him at some stage and their daughter Amelia Ann was born in Sydney in December 1841.[3]
Death 17 October 1875 • Mudgee, New South Wales, Australia.[4]
Death Notice: POLDEN. — October 17, at her residence, Market street, Mudgee, Eliza Jane, relict of the late Joseph Polden, in her 67th year, and dearly beloved mother of Mrs. J. Sharkey, Woollahra. (Sydney Morning Herald 20 Oct 1875, p 1).
