Letitia Jane Pollock was born on 27th March 1870 in Oxley Creek, Queensland (Australia). She was the eldest of the thirteen children of Irish emigrants John Pollock and Letitia Jane Densmore. [1]
Letitia married Henry Read on 9th October 1891 in Queensland (Australia). [2] They made their home at Widgee Creek, south of Beaudesert, Queensland, where they raised a family of eight children. Letitia's family moved north to Bundaberg in 1894.
After being widowed in 1922, Letitia's son Samuel moved in and cared for her. She later moved into the local town, Rathdowney, and sometime after the Second World War moved to Coal Street, Redbank. [3]
Aged 94 years, she passed away on 10th August 1964 in Ipswich, Queensland. [4]
