A record of the marriage of this Edward H. Pollock to Barbara E. Milligan in Leominster, Worcester, Massachusetts, (in a Fitchburg, Massachusetts registration listing), January 26, 1905. Of this Edward, this record also tells us he was 23yrs old comb maker, born in Leicester, (Worcester), Massachusetts and that his parents were Edward J. Pollock and Jennie A. Hines.[1]

CENSUS':

The 1900 US Census of Leominster, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this Edward H. Pollock at the age of 19yrs old and given as a "comb maker" born in Massachusetts. He is living there in Leominster on Willow Str. in the home of his parents; 46yr old Edward J. Pollock and 44yr old Jennie A. and six younger siblings; 16yr old Christina E., 14yr old William L., 12yr old Katie M., 9yr old Jennie V. (could be something other than Jennie), 7yr old Lillian M. and 4yr old Mortin H.[2]

The 1910 US Census of Leominster, Worcester, Massachusetts finds the family listed with the wrong spelling of the last name; "Polock" (sic). This person if found, given as 29yr old Edward H. "Polock" (sic), a 29yr old laborer for the town, born in Massachusetts. He is living there in Leominster at 33 Summer St. with his 24yr old wife, Barbara E. and their two children; 4yr old Edward R. and 2yr old Katherine E. They are all living in the household of a 44yr old female named Ola Powers.[3]

The 1920 US Census of Leominster, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this Edward Pollock at the age of 38yrs old and given as a comb maker in a comb shop, born in Massachusetts. He is living there in a part of Leominster at 272 (street name blurred out, in or near the Lincoln Terrace and Middle Street neighborhood which was where a large Italian congregation settled in Leominster). He is living there with his 34yr old wife, Barbara and their five children; 14yr old Edward, 12yr old "Catherine" (several different names used for this child thru history), 9yr old James, 8yr old Margeret and 2-month old William.[4]

The 1930 US Census of Leominster, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this person, given as Edward "E." Pollock, at the age of 47yrs old and given as a house painter, born in Massachusetts and 1st married at age 22yrs old. He is living there in Leominster in a home he is renting at 3 Kendall St for $20. per month with his wife given as Barbara but given as 34yrs old, (that's a substantial error). Note that none of their children are given in this census.[5]

The 1940 US Census of Leominster, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this Edward H. Pollock at the age of 58yrs old and given as a house painter, born in Massachusetts. He is found living there in Massachusetts in a home he is renting for $21.50 per month at 29 Franklin St. with his 54yr old wife, Barbara and six of their children; 20yr old Edward, 18yr old Barbara, 16yr old Mary, 14yr old Janet, 12yr old Marylyn and 10yr old Rose.[6]

MILITARY-TYPE RECORDS:

A WW1 US Draft Registration record for this Edward Henry Pollock says he registered September 12, 1918 at the Leominster, Massachusetts draft board. The record gives us his full name as Edward Henry Pollock; says he was 37yrs old at the time and born May 30, 1881; says he was a house painter working for a company called Wilson & Woods"; says he was living at 175 5th St. in Leominster at the time and that his next of kin was his wife, Barbara E. Pollock. It also tells us that he was tall and slender and had grey eyes and brown hair.[7]

NEWSWORTHY LIFE EVENTS:

In October of 1943, this Edward Pollock, (62yrs old at the time) received head injuries when struck by a car on Merriam Ave. in Leominster, Massachusetts. The article indicates that Edward walked into a stopped car and fell backwards. The article makes it sound as though this was suspicious.[8]
