Biography / Timeline
Mary (Pomfrett) Waller was born in Buckinghamshire, England.
Little is known about Mary Pomfrett. Parents have not been identified.
William Pomfrett A.B. was vicar of Astwood, May 27, 1689 through December 21, 1704 and Mr. Benjamin Pomfrett, of Newport Pagnell, purchased of Sir William Tyreyham, Knt., the right of advowson[5]. Later, Robert Pomfrett was rector of Emberton from April 30, 1753 until 1804. [6]
Apparently, Mary and Dr. John Waller resided in Newport Pagnell during their lifetime, as records exist for children's Birth, Mary's Marriage, and Will of Dr. John.

Death
No parish records or probate records identified to confirm actual date of death and place. Death presumed before 1716 in Newport Pagenell, Buckinghamshire England (vs September 2, 1735 -- at Spotsylvania County, Virginia.)
Aug 1716 Dr John's Will Written; Mary was unnamed as either a beneficiary or Executrix. (Daughter Jemima was named as beneficiary and Executrix.) Waller Research Transcription of WILL of Dr. John Waller 1723 - Death of Dr. John. Mary Most likely deceased;
Much controversy on whether she removed to Virginia as a Widow, or died in Buckinghamshire -
1724 Controversy seems to be a result of - Herndon Family Story/Legend Surfaces - Widow Mary relocates to Virginia; living next to Daugher Mary and her Husband Herndon, and Mary's Son Col. John. This appears to have been concluded because of a 1724 Land Transaction (Spotsylvania) where "Mrs. Mary Waller" had land adjacent to Herndon's land.
Logic would rule out this being the Widow of Dr. John. It is unlikely that Mary Pomfrett (about 80 yrs) would undertake such a hazardous journey to reside with her son/daughter when others of her family were still in England. It is more likely Mary died before the 1716 Will as she was Not Named as a beneficary nor an executrix; and Daughter Jemima inherited all (un-entailed) personal property and goods and was Executrix of will. Mary's sons, Benjamin was the Primary Heir and Executor; Edmond a Dr. in Cambridge -- William a Minister at Walton (nearby parish where Mary married). [3]
(a) Daughter Mary died age 2 so can't be wife of Herndon;
(b) Mary m. Herndon can't be dau of Col. John - (b. 1699) too young; unmarried as of 1716 (per Dr. John Will); and Herndon children's birth 1698-1716 - Edward Herndon died about 1758
(c) Mary daughter of Col John married Zachary Lewis 1725 (confirmed in 2 wills one before Herndon died -- 1754 and the other after Herndon's death -1759; Zachary Lewis died 1765. It is unlikely she would have been married to both at the same time with children birth estimates during same timeframe.
