Carl Miller Poole was born on 07 Nov 1869 in Cleveland Co. , North Carolina as the seventh child of Morgan Alexander Pool and Paralee (Wellmon) Pool. [1] Carl had eleven siblings:

Carl was a native of Cleveland NC, but lived almost all of his life in Cherokee County NC
Nannie and Carl had the following ten known children: ( obit also confirms 6 daughters and 4 sons)
this line now appears to be confirmed to be descended from a well documented historical figure: David Poole --among the very first of the French Huguenots to immigrate to VA Colony. the Dave Cobb DNA (see DNA below) match provides very strong confirmation of this line which traces back to David Poole, an expert wine maker and French Huguenot refugee who was a French Huguenot, born in Languedoc France, fled to England in the religious wars, and at an early age immigrated to England, and, was sent by the crown to Elizabeth City County VA in 1619 in and attempt to develop a commercial wine industry in the VA Colony. See Poole /Pool Freepages for in depth discussion of David Poole; also see the David Poole (1585-1660) profile at Wikitree.com.
Carl died on 01 Jul 1941 in York, York, South Carolina, USA. He was buried in the Grassy Pond Baptist Church Cemetery, Gaffney, Cherokee County, South Carolina.

Family Tree DNA autosomal DNA match results. Autosomal DNA match between Wm Pool and Dave Cobb appear to confirm this is a descendant of Alexander Pool, Jr who died in Mecklenburg in 1767 leaving sons Alexander and James orphans. This is an important confirmation for this Poole / Pool line; previously we were dependant on Church warden's records, deeds, etc to tie the James B Pool and Alexander Pool III lines together-- the Dave Cobb DNA match provides very strong confirmation of this line which traces back to David Poole, an expert wine maker and French Huguenot refugee who was a French Huguenot, born in Languedoc France, fled to England in the religious wars, and at an early age immigrated to England, and, was sent by the crown to Elizabeth City County VA in 1619 in and attempt to develop a commercial wine industry in the VA Colony.
