Klaaske Jannes Pool, her sisters Aafke and Grietje, and their brother Harmen were all christened in Ureterp on the same day: 20 February 1766. Their parents were Jannes Jacobus and Jitske Harmens. The Pool surname was used in memory of their 17th century Polish ancestor named Hieronymy Baltemewitz Dopkewitz (±1663-1702/1708).
