Lindsay was born about 1822. He was the son of Jacob Pool and Hannah Weaver.
He married Hannah S. Tucker and had at least four sons.
Lindsay lived with his family in New Bedford, Bristol County, where he worked as a labourer; but by 1855 they moved to Dartmouth where Lindsey worked as a sparmaker, apparently working in a New Bedford shipyard. At the time, New Bedford dominated the whaling industry.
The Pooles moved into New Bedford again by 1860 where they lived with a 69-year-old tailor named James Cannon. Lindsey was again recorded as a laborer.
Sadly he passed away in 1860 at the age of about 38. Cause of Death: Suicide[1]
After Lindsey's death, his widow Hannah lived with the Bonney family in New Bedford, Bristol County, where she did domestic work. She then remarried to Andrew C. King, a farmer in New Bedford, on April 14, 1867, in Dartmouth.
