Sarah and her husband seem to have established a profitable business following the family occupation as Staymakers. When Sarah died she made a will leaving a leasehold property at 50 Mortimer Street near Cavendish Square. She also mentioned having horses & carriages and money invested as well as some silverware items which she bequeathed.
Birth Sarah's place of birth is unknown, but it seemed likely that her parents were Henry and Mary Pool and that she was born and baptised at St Martin Ludgate in Nov 1774. However the following document puts that in doubt as it seems to only apply to her, not Samuel, and would indicate that she was born in 1773 and although would have been born in a different London parish could also mean that she had come from outside the city of London. On the other hand in Jan 1795 she gave her age as 20 when Mary was born.[1]
Settlement Parish: She underwent a Pauper Settlement Examination in 1798 as follows:- "Saint Clement Danes, Middlesex and Westminster } - to wit Sarah Worledge aged about 25 years upon her Oath saith that on or about the Seventh day of June 1794 she Intermarried with Samuel Worledge her present Husband at the Parish Church of Saint Annes Westmr.
