Biography

Father Sir William "the Antiquary" Pole, Sheriff of Devonshire, Burgess of Bossiney, Justice of the Peace for Devonshire b. 27 Aug 1561, d. 9 Feb 1636

Mother Mary Periam b. 30 Apr 1567, d. 2 May 1605

Anne married Edmund Walrond.[1][2] Anne and Edmund had the following children, all baptized at Seaton, Devonshire:

  1. Mary, bpt. January 6, 1612,[3] m. April 5, 1642 Ellis Bartlett at Seaton, buried August 23, 1684 at Branscombe[4][5]
  2. William, bpt. May 12, 1614[6]
  3. Jane, bpt. October 26, 1615[7]
  4. John, bpt. August 28, 1617[8]
  5. Katherine, bpt. December 21, 1623[9]
  6. Edmond, bpt. November 12, 1628[10]
  7. Anne, bpt. January 8, 1633[11]

Anne's husband Edmund was buried at Seaton parish church in September 1640.[12]

Anne's Find-A-Grave page states that she was buried in the church yard of St. Gregory's church in Seaton in March 1667, but no supporting evidence is provided.[13]

The remainder of the bio is almost certainly incorrect.

Anne Poole was christened on 1 November 1589 at Bridgewater, Somersetshire, England.

She married Rev. Nicholas Street circa 1624.

Anne Poole died on 3 December 1683 at Taunton, Bristol, MA, at age 94.

Hurd, D. Though not definitive, the following seems to show that Ann Poole came to America with her siblings. She also was married in England to someone named Waldron before she came to America. Her father was a Baronet.

I am disconnecting Ann as the wife of Nicholas Street and the mother of her children. Her husband Edmund Walrond didn't die until 1640, when she was about 50, so she could not have been the mother of any of Nicholas's children.

I believe the "Questionable Gateway Ancestor" category has been discontinued, but, while there is no doubt that Ann Poole was descended from nobility, there is very great doubt as to whether she married Nicholas Street. See: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/soc.genealogy.medieval/QliughpRy2g

This profile is rated as questionable on the gateway listing but seem fairly well Documented why is it listed as a questionable at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Questionable_Gateway_Ancestors ?

Poole-2504 and Poole-44 appear to represent the same person because: same birth and death dates and locations

Her last two children listed are highly improbable as she would have been in her mid 50's by then. The two before that are dated to have been born in her 40's....
