My WikiTree Directive

Name:

Marion I Poole. Daughter of Douglas Poole Betty Brooks

Born

JUL 1955–SEP 1955. Hampstead, London, England.[1] [2]

Arrival in Australia

November 23 1964 [3]

Marriage and Divorce

Marion married Gregory Wayne Knight 9 April 1983, at 158 Peachey Rd, Elizabeth Fields, South Australia.

They had one child, a son, in 1988.

They divorced 1997.

In 2009, just before my mother’s 80th birthday she brought up the wish to look up her family history. Together we managed to do some, but had limited access to internet. Sadly she never got to do much more. What with the illness and death of her husband (my step-father) followed by the re-occurrence and metastasizing of her cancer, it was abandoned. In 2014 she passed away and only now (2018) do I feel ready to pick it up again. I hope to do her proud and leave a legacy for my son.

Hi Marion,

Your England Leaders are completing the six monthly check in with all team members. Thank you for all your work on English Profiles and in particular your work as Team Laeder for the Arborist Team, and on the Help Desk Team.

These are unprecedented and difficult times, and we understand as Project Leaders that your situation may have changed somewhat in the last few months. What we are all able to/ wish to contribute on Wikitree has changed. Please let me know if you are happy with your current role and team choice, or if you wish to do something additional or different.

Thank you again on behalf of all the Project Leaders for everything you do, and thank you for all that you did for our new members as a Trailblazer.

Lizzie

Hi Marion

Happy New Year

We appreciate your being part of the England Data Doctor Team and all the work you have done during 2019.

With the New Year starting I am writing to ask if you wish to remain on the England DD Team for 2020. If you could let me know as I am updating the  England DD Page]

If you wish too, you can adopt a suggestion or two and a county to work on this year.

Hi Marion,

On behalf of the England Leaders, I wanted to say a huge thank you for all your contributions towards the project in the past six months as a Team Member for Arborists, Help Desk and as a Trailblazer. We've achieved a great deal during this time and we couldn't have done it without you.

Are you happy to stay in your current teams and the project as a whole? Are there any other teams you'd like to join? What are we doing well, and what would you like to see us doing differently moving forwards?

Please respond to this message via e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks,

Susie, England Project Leader :-)

You came to Oz as a child with your parents. So did I, I was also 9. My father had a position as pathologist in a Sydney university teaching hospital, so after 3 years in New Zealand, we all climbed onto a boat in Auckland and landed in Sydney in 1960. Girls I knew at school who came from England in 1962 also came by boat. I am wondering when subsidized immigration stopped, and when immigrants stopped coming by boat. I know my parents liked the idea of moving the family from England to NZ for 10 pounds, but their application was rejected!

Thanks for rejecting the merge proposal of the two John McCann's. I don't know what I was thinking. I've sourced both John McCann-201 and his son and unlinked the wrong John McCann-1625 from the wife Mary Hilger and added notes.
Thanks for searching for Sir Peer Rycaut Marion. The results seem feasible, but I will do some more checking just to make sure. Do you still live in Australia... I will be in touch re Sir Peter.

Regards and Thanks again Carolyn Dominish Giles-3244
