Biography

● Interred at Mount Bethel Cemetery, Garfield, Frederick County, MD. [1]

[The Mount Bethel Cemetery did not exist at the time of Ann's death. She was originally buried on the land of her parents, and then later re-interred at Mount Bethel. A Find A Grave Memorial for her father, Henry, indicates that he and his wife Catharine and daughter Ann were all re-interred on 18 Feb 1913.]

Partial text of a newspaper article describing the 175th anniversary of the Mount Bethel United Methodist Church, with the cemetery adjoining. As noted in the article, the land on which the church and the cemetery are located was originally deeded for that purpose by Ann's father, Henry Poorman.: [2]

"... in 1824, there became a need for a church and a cemetery in the area when Henry and Catharine Poorman’s four-year-old daughter, Ann, died; the child was buried at her home plantation. ..."
