Biography
Luke was born in 1845. He was the son of Lemuel Pope and Hannah Prouty. Luke worked the family farm in Bury with his mother Hannah, his brother William and his half-brother, Elijah. In 1880 he moved with his mother to Sawyerville and in 1881 to Cookshire, Quebec. He passed away Oct. 21,1884. His widow, Eliza, married T.A. Hurd and Luke's mother more generally called "Aunt Hannah" lived with Mrs. Hurd in Cookshire until her death. [1]
