Biography
Stephen Love Pope, son of Alexander and and Adeline (Babston) Pope, was born on 29 Aug. 1863 at Sampson County, North Carolina.[1] He appeared on the census of 13 July 1870 in the home of his father and step-mother at Halls, Sampson County, North Carolina.[2] He worked on the farm when he appeared on the census of 1 June 1880 in the home of his sister and brother-in-law at Piney Grove, Sampson County, North Carolina.[3]
He married Albertha Tew on 1 Dec. 1897 at Sampson County, North Carolina.[4]
Stephen died on 20 Jan. 1916 at Mingo, Sampson County, North Carolina and was buried at Spring Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, Mingo, Sampson County, North Carolina.[1] His memorial has photos and links to those of family members.[5]
