John married firstly Elizabeth Wheatley, secondly Alice Bates, the mother of his children, and thirdly Jane Rishworth.[1]

His 3nd wife Jane must have been much younger. Looks like she married an old man to finish him off and cash in, which is just the sort of thing you'd expect of her.
