Alice Poppy (Povye) was born circa 1514 at Ludlow, Shropshire, England.[1] She married Robert Townsend on 1 October 1534 at Ludlow, Shropshire, England, son of Sir Roger Townshend and Anne de Brewse.[1][2] Alice Poppy died on 13 November 1576 at Ludlow, Shropshire, England.[1]
Sir Robert's tomb identifies it as Povye (aka Povey) which is a variant of Povah which derives from ap Hwfa. m. (1516) Alice Povye (dau of Robert Povye of Twyford by Anna, dau of John Mordox) This would put her born around 1498.
Alice was born about 1525.
