Edmund Brian Porter was born on 17 January 1927 at "Glenere" on Hambledon Street in Hawthorn, Victoria, Australia, the son of Agnes Helene (Burghard) Porter and Edmund Russell Porter.[1][2][3]
He attended Scotch College in Hawthorn from 1933 to 1944.[2]
He married Ann Mortimer Colclough on 27 August 1952 at the Littlejohn Memorial Chapel, Scotch College,[3] after announcing their engagement in August 1951.[4] Their children are:[5]
In his career, Brian was a data processing manager.[2]
He died on 13 March 2011 at his home in Mornington, Victoria.[2]
