1) Samuel Porter, married (about) 1659, Anna (or Hannah) Stanley, daughter of Thomas Stanley, who came from London, Eng., in 1634, in the ship "Planter," and in 1635 removed to Hartford, Conn., on the first settlement of that place. He removed to Hadley, Mass., in 1659, where he died September 6, 1689. His wife, Anna, died December 18, 1708.  Children: Thomas S. Porter, b. April 1, 1683, m. Thankful Babcock, of Coventry, Conn. 
2,3) Stanley, (also known as Captain Thomas Stanley Porter) son of Samuel Porter, was born April 1, 1683. He married, November 13, 1707, Thankful Babcock (also written early Bodcock). Thankful was the daughter of Jonathan Babcock and Mary Curtis. She married Thomas Stanley Porter 13 Nov 1707. 
They settled at Coventry, Connecticut, where he was the first town clerk. They lived near the South Coventry meeting-house, now called Boyington place. She was a daughter of Jonathan and granddaughter of Robert Babcock, who came from England in 1648. He was a captain in the Indian wars.
