Rebecca Nash, dau. of Moses and Rebecca Nash of West Hartford b. in Deerfield, Mass. 8 Jan. 1722/3, was m. (1) 26 July, 1747, to Alexander Porter. The marriage took place in West Hartford, but was recorded both there and at Hadley, Mass. He resided at one time in Amherst, Mass. It is supposed that A. Porter d. in Hadley, in 1748. His widow Rebecca was m. (2) to Stephen Chubb, of New Hartford, Ct. It is evident from the birth of her first child by her (2) husband Mr. Chubb, that her (1) husband A. Porter lived but a short time after his marriage. Mrs. Rebecca Chubb d. in New Hartford, Ct. 16 Feb. 1763.[1]
