After the death his mother in 1643, Walter, brother John and brother-in-law Patrick Drummond caused a stone to be erected in their church with the arms of both Elizabeth and her deceased husband, John. There was a large dispute with this with matter being taken to General Assembly and threats being made. After much ado, the stone was erected and eventually was removed.[1]
Family
Walter married Catherine Cant in 1645.[2] In 1660 he succeeded to Comiston, upon the death of Catherine's brother Andrew.[3] They had two childen:
