Biography
John Porton was born in Warwickshire, England.
John was born on the 23rd February 1822. He is the son of Joseph Porton and Mary Midlam. His Christening [1] was on the 18th March 1822 at St Phillips, Birmingham.
In the 1841 census [2] his family were living in Little Charles Street, and his occupation is not listed.
On the 4th March 1842 [3] he went on trial in Birmingham for Embezzlement, He was sentenced to 12 months in prison.
He married Maria Unknown, somewhere, sometime, i have not been able to find any other information at the moment, and they had a son Isaac (1861-?).
He passed away in 1892, aged 70, I have not found a source to verify this fact
