- Bennett Posey's will (dated 1832, made in Muscogee Co, but filed in Troup) mentions the following: wife Nancy, son Green, son James, son Lemon, son-in-law Harrison Revel, Elizabeth (Posey) Kimbrough (presumably another daughter), son Jubell, deceased son Chesley. Lemon Posey received a negro woman Ann, Ann's two children Luke and Tom, a girl Charity, and another girl Winney (wife Nancy had a life estate in Winney). Further, sons Green, James, and Lemmon received Bennett's land [Troup Co, GA, Will Bk 1, p8].
- Bennett Posey of Troup is the same as the Bennett Posey who earlier lived in Greene Co, GA, and who married there in 1796 to Nancy Griffin, widow of Andrew Griffin [Greene Co, GA, Estate Records, Book E (transcribed), pages 111 & 112 (original pages 133 & 134)].
