Isabella's Father Thomas Postlethwaite on the 23 December 1882 beat his wife Sarah very badly she died as a result of the beating, he was charged with murder on the 18 Jan 1883 at Lancaster assizes and was found guilty he was given a sentence of 20 years for manslaughter his family wanted nothing to do with him when he got out of jail and he died in a workhouse Union Workhouse Ulverston Lancashire England

you can use this url to his profile in my tree on ancestry to read the trial documents other distant relatives have told me they where lied to and told she fell down the stairs she did not fall down the stairs,
