Isabella's Father Thomas Postlethwaite on the 23 December 1882 beat his wife Sarah very badly she died as a result of the beating, he was charged with murder on the 18 Jan 1883 at Lancaster assizes and was found guilty he was given a sentence of 20 years for manslaughter his family wanted nothing to do with him when he got out of jail and he died in a workhouse Union Workhouse Ulverston Lancashire England
