Birth and Upbringing: Eben was born in 1957
Education: He was educated at Bothashof School
Occupation: Soldier – Rhodesian Army: Service No. 103738
Demise: Killed in action on 19 July 1975 while serving as a Rifleman with 2 Commando, 1st Battalion, Rhodesian Light Infantry at Masoso TTL, Rhodesia (Operation Hurricane)[1] Eben was killed by a gunshot wound, aged 18 years. After elements of the RR had initiated a contact, Rhodesian Light Infantry Fire Force from Mt Darwin was flown to the scene.
Burial: Eben Potgieter was buried with full military honours at Warren Hills Cemetery, Salisbury [2]
