I am interested in John Pawson and when he arrived in Africa

Hi Lindsay,

I have no idea when he came to SA. I can give you some links from census in UK. Are you from Wepner?

I am from Yorkshire not far from where John came from. He was the brother of my husbands direct descendant William Pawson .He joined his brother John to go to the diamond mines. William came back to England at some point I dont know why. I wondered what made John go to Africa in the first place and how long he had been there as by the time William arrived he was already married to Isabella , with children. I would be very grateful of any links you have.
