Communication Preferences: I am interested in communicating private message with cousins and anyone else with an interest in genealogy. My family tree is on another website.
My worst brick wall is my Great Grandfather, John P Potter, born in Troy, NY in 1833. He Married Sarah Anne (Eigenbroadt) Eygabrot (1852-1888) in Princeton, Wisconsin and had five children, but I have nothing on his family. Frustrating as I carry his sirname, and I have traced some other lines to thirteen and seventeen greats.

Hello Donald,

Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and with whom you might have ancestors in common. It normally takes 24 hours from adding a test, or adding a new ancestor, or ancestor’s descendant, for WikiTree to display your name and test results on your ancestors and their descendants’ profiles for potential cousins to compare results with.

Have fun!

PS - The people at the G2G forum are really amazing at finding out more about specific family members. I would suggest putting John P. Potter into a nice, specific question and seeing if they can't help you! :)

Hi Donald!

Welcome to WikiTree! You can now get started adding your branch of the global tree. Our New Member How-To is a great reference for all things WikiTree.

By the way, if you ever get a "Page Not Found" error when you click a link in a WikiTree email, you can usually find a functioning link in the public comments section of your profile page.

Give me a shout if I can help in any way.
