Biography

Willis was born on 15 August 1899 to David Irines Potter and Florence Alabama Redding.

He was a lifelong resident of Barry County his whole life. He owned and operated the general store in McDowell for many years. He also was a retired farmer and stockman.

Willis died on 29 January 1981 at St Vincent's Hospital in Monett, Missouri, after a long illness.[1]

The family would meet every labor day weekend for many years on Vergle Asher place on Flat Creek. Uncle Willis would always go night fishing.

He never let any of us kids go with him fishing.

I remember visiting him a few times in Purdy, with my grandparents Willard and Flossie.
