David Potter, the son of Samuel Potter and Joanna Woods, and grandson of Anthony Potter and Elizabeth Whipple [should be Elizabeth Stone], was born March 27, 1685 in Ipswich, Massachusetts. David married Mary Merriam of Lynn and came to Topsham with his three sons, William, James and Alexander, in 1738.[1]
Mary Merriam, the daughter of Joseph Merriam and Sarah Jenkins, married David Potter of Ipswich in 1711.[2]
David Potter died about 1738 in Topsham, Sagadahoc, Maine.
